Switzerland is represented on the World Heritage List by four cultural and two natural sites.

The country contributes to several projects for the safeguarding of world heritage: a series of projects under study in the Gaza Strip; a data bank of objects stolen from the Baghdad museum (Iraq) and training of the museum's staff; consolidating and restoring the Jam minaret (Afghanistan) through the UNESCO/Switzerland Funds-in-Trust; and coordination of a committee for the safeguarding of Afghanistan's cultural heritage.
